Hey! Check out the side bar on links! I found a website that has some really sweet games, all involving A Series of Unfortunate Events! My favorite game is the Bad Memory Wheel. At least I think it's called that... Anyways, check it out! It also has other things like a discusion thing and a summary of the books- or at least what's on the back of them. So, anyways, it's a really sweet site and it's really fun... Oh! and this has nothing to do with the site nor the books, but check out the other new link. It's for advice. Anyway, I found out that the 13th book comes out on Friday, October 13, 2006! It's the LAST BOOK!! I am going to die of not being able to read anymore of the troubling sad story of the Bauldelaires... = ( Wa...

Okay, my name is Emma and I am in love with these books called a Series of Unfortunate Events. Recently, I reread all of the books and just got done with #11 today. I'm getting #12 in a book order soon, but I haven't gotten it yet. Oh, I'm so excited!
So, I assume that everyone has either seen the movie, read the books, or at least heard of this wonderful story, although it is not that wonderful, some way or another. The story is about the Baudelaire orphans and a series of unfortunate events that seem to follow them wherever they go. Violet, the oldest, is and inventor, who prefers to spend her time inventing things and studying mechanical things such as gears and engines. The middle Baudelaire, is a bookworm, so to speak, and in his free time likes to read anything he can find that is not overly boring or cruel. Sunny, the youngest, enjoys biting, and in the 9+ books, has found an interest in cooking. After a horrible fire in the Baudelaire mansion, in which were Violet, Klaus, the middle child, and Sunny's parents perished in, the orphans were sent to Count Olaf's grimy home.
Count Olaf is an evil man who has one eyebrow, instead of two, which I'm sure you know is an unibrow, and a tattoo of an eye on his left ankle. The symbol (the eye) is an insignia for V.F.D., an secret organization that puts out fires. Olaf, however, betrayed the volunteer Fire Department, as the orphans think it is called, and devoted his life to stealing fortunes, such as the Bauldelaires, and acting with a theater group that includes a bald man with a long nose, a hook-handed man, two powder faced women, and a person that looks like neither a man nor a woman. Recently, though, the bald man with the long nose died, as well as the person who neither looks like a man nor a woman, and the two powder faced women quit. Olaf, however gained a villain's girlfriend and more comrades including a man with a beard but no hair and a woman with hair but no beard, a hunchback named Hugo, an ambidextrous man named Kevin, and a contortionist woman named Colette. Also a young girl named Fiona, who was good, but then met up with her long, lost brother, the hook-handed man, and couldn't bear to leave him behind. Klaus and Fiona, however, had a relationship, which is now pretty much broken. Violet had her own lover, Quigley Quagmire, who was carried away in the Stricken Stream, but is safe and will soon be reunited with his friends.
I hope you liked my brief summary! If you want to hear more, post a comment!
